The surrounding neighborhood shares a common architectural language of pitched roofs. Envisioned as another home for children, the center adopts a house-shaped form that blends into its surroundings.
The building mass is divided into two offset, house-like volumes of different scales. This breaks down the scale to create a friendlier presence while separating internal functions.
To respond to the urban context, the ground floor is set back to form a shaded entrance buffer, allowing public character to permeate from the outside in. On the second floor, a large terrace under the pitched roof extends the children’s activities, fostering dialogue with the adjacent kindergarten and nearby residences through this void and its vibrant use.
At the rear, an outdoor staircase connects the backyard playground across all three floors.
Starting with the simple geometry of a house, the project develops an integrated spatial strategy that responds to both its internal program and the surrounding urban fabric.
